It was great to see familiar faces at NAB like, FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler and NAB CTO, Sam Matheny (both featured in image). We also enjoyed meeting new people from both the radio broadcast and advertisement industries. The key messages for NextRadio this year were content increases listening, AT&T phones now compatible and we unveiled the data NextRadio provides broadcasters and advertisers.
NextRadio Integrates with PRSS
A press conference was held at our radio booth on Monday, 4/18 to announce integration with Public Radio Satellite System (PRSS). The NextRadio app is joining with the Public Radio Satellite System (PRSS) to introduce its new PRSS MetaPub Platform to integrate enhanced visual features and information from public radio programming into NextRadio.
The PRSS created the MetaPub platform for the public radio market to enhance national and local public radio programming with new capabilities for displaying images, text and promotional materials. The benefit for stations and producers is increased revenue potential and listener engagement as well as the ability to collect listener data via NextRadio app tracking. ALERT FM to Integrate with NextRadio
Global Security Systems, LLC (GSS) announced that they have partnered with NextRadio to provide emergency notifications to users. The NextRadio app team will review ways to interconnect with GSS’s ALERT FM emergency notification system to provide users with federal, state, and/or local information during the event of a man-made or natural disaster. This new feature is scheduled to be available to NextRadio users in 2016.
ALERT FM provides federal, state, and/ or local emergency information to citizens using the Radio Data System (“RDS”) of local FM radio stations. Citizens can receive this information on ALERT FM receivers or any device including cellphones equipped with an FM-chip and the proper software.
